Rescue Your Dog From Recall Dog Food
Millions of
containers of dog food have been recalled by a manufacturer, Menu Foods, who produces dog food dozens of dog food
companies.
In fact, forty
eight brands are included in the dog food recall, including dog food companies, Nutro, Iams and Eukanuba.
The recalled dog
food has been sold by major dog food retailers throughout the
United States including Kroger, Wal-Mart and the Safeway chains.
Dogs affected by
the apparently tainted dog food have suffered kidney failure and to date approximately ten dogs have died after apparently eating the now
recalled dog food.

Menu Foods
states that the recall is for dog food manufactured between 12/2/2006 and3/6/2007.
Menu Foods states that the dog food impacted by the recall is limited to “cuts and gravy” style dog food, in pouches and
cans.
This dog food is produced and sold under private label as well as being produced for certain national brands. Menu states
that the concern has been for the renal health of the pets ( dogs for our reference)
.
Tests done internally and externally have not discovered a problem with the products themselves.
The company however states that they
“discovered that timing of the production associated with these complaints, coincides with the introduction of an ingredient from a
new supplier. The Fund stopped using this ingredient shortly after this discovery and production since then has been undertaken using
ingredients from another source.”
Apparently, the ingredient which may be suspect is wheat gluten, a source of protein
