Federal Indictment Unleashes Fury
Against Dog Food Makers
In the aftermath of the dog food recall that was
responsible for the reported deaths of thousands of dogs, two Chinese companies and one American firm have been criminally indicted on
multiple felony counts of introduction of adulterated food into interstate commerce and introduction of misbranded food into interstate
commerce.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration says that 2,200
dogs died after eating melamine tainted dog food. Melamine, a chemical used in the manufacture of plastics was discovered in approximately 800
tons of mislabeled tainted wheat gluten to avoid inspection in
China.
An American firm, ChemNutra and its owners were charged
with multiple misdemeanor and a felony count.
"The defendants intended to deceive the Chinese
government in addition to consumers," stated the U. S. Attorney handling the case.
Here’s the clincher…your dog was poisoned by the alleged
intentional acts of the participants !
The indictment says that, ChemNutra sold the
melamine-tainted product to manufacturers of commercial brands of pet (dog) food. The indictment charges that the Chinese company added
melamine to artificially boost protein content of the gluten. This was cheaper than adding real protein, albeit poisonous. So dogs became ill
and suffered renal failure and thousands died.
Feeding your dog many commonly recognized commercial dog
food brands has never been a nutritionally safe alternative to holistic, human grade, or home made dog food.
If you love your dog, you should learn what really goes
into commercial dog food before you fork over your hard earned money for another bag or can at your local retailer. You may just save your
best friend’s life!
My small 8 year old dog suddenly became ill and no vet
could determine the cause. Her life expectancy was 25 years. Don’t let anything happen to your
